Entrepreneurship Development Cell
Our college organized an "Entrepreneurship Development Cell" (EDC) from 10-11-2004 for creating awareness about the self-employment system to the student's community.
The Objective of EDC is
  • To give support to students for helping them to start their own business.
  • To equip them with necessary skills.
  • To assist in placement.
  • To Impact the self-management concept to the students for their future enhancement.
  • The cell recommended more than 400 students to attend a training program on women entrepreneurship organized by the District Industrial Centre on 2nd August 2005.
  • The students attended Orientation programs in the IECD, Bharathidasan University, Trichy in various dates.
  • More than 156 students who have secured above 60% in their UG degree have registered with the women's placement cell of Bharathidasan University, Trichy.
  • An inter collegiate aptitude level test was conducted our college on the 11th of January 2006, which was organized by IECD, Bharathidasan University, Trichy.
  • From the recommendation of this cell more than 62 students got the job. All UG and PG students have registered in various private recruiting agencies.
  • The final year Pg students of all the departments are being recommended to the IECD for venture capital.
Parent Teacher Association
Parent Teacher Association is functioning excellently in this institution. Selected parents who can give positive suggestions are invited periodically to attend the Parent-Teacher Association. The suggestions given by the positive thinking parents are given added attention and implemented for framing future policies of the institutions.
Alumni Association
The Alumni association of this institution keeps complete track of all the students who passed out from the college gloriously. The Alumni who are in India and abroad are invited to attend periodical meetings in this institution. Outgoing students also attend the meetings. The interaction between alumni and outgoing students is highly advantageous to the later.
USSC (University Students Service Corps)
A unique scheme which is organized to tame the students mentally. The students are trained on yoga, meditation & personality value programmes, which develop students mentally, spiritually and help to have emotional balance in life.
The college has 3 NSS units. These units have adopted various villages and have imparted various beneficiaries to the villagers and also to the college.
Red Ribbon Club
The Red Ribbon Club was incepted in the college with the notion of creating awareness among students related to AIDS. The unit has organized various seminars and workshops and has also taken the students for visits to the community affected by AIDS.
Youth Red Cross
The YRC unit of the college organizes various blood donation camps. The unit also hosts seminars on importance of blood and blood donation. The students are enriched with values and seminars where the lectures are given by the lead doctors from the Medical College.
Rotract Club
The Rotract club of this college aims at providing good morals to the students by organizing various good will programmes and taking them to distribute beneficiaries to the needy student group and aged people.
Fine Arts
The college has two separate units for fine arts comprising of boys and girls unit respectively. The students are encouraged to participate in various cultural events. They are motivated and allowed to participate in various intercollegiate competitions also. The students participate in BARD fest competitions and have fetched laurels to the college. Every year the association organizes a fine arts day traditionally hosted after the college annual day which spans for 2 days where special celebrities are invited who also hosts some programmes. The students are awarded with certificates in view of their appreciation towards participation.
The college has 8 buses to cater to the students hailing from different parts of the city. Separate buses are operated for boys and girls. It is compulsory for girls to travel by college bus. Town bus facilities are also available to the college from all parts of the city.
Hostel facilities are provided for students of Marudupandiyar College, Marudupandiyar Teacher Training Institute and Marudupandiyar College of Education. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls. The inmates of the hostel are taken utmost care and are served with delicious food. In addition to these indoor games facilities are also provided. The study hours are strictly enforced.
Seminar Hall
The seminar hall is designed to accommodate 400 delegates. It has provisions for carrying out the seminars and conferences with the aid of LCD, OHP and slide projectors. It has a separate audio and PA system which is dedicated for the events that takes place in this hall. Video conferencing and on-line classes are also taken care of.
The library is well furnished and aerated with adequate volumes of books on various subjects. More than 25000 volumes of books in various faculties, over 30 national international journals are stocked. The library is fully computerized which gives all the details about the transactions and the stock. Apart from these each and every department has its own mini library, which caters to the needs of their respective departments. Latest publications on Computer Science, Information Technology, Bio-Technology, Biochemistry and languages are available. Magazines on various subjects and reference books are made available in the reference section. The students are given extra time to refer to the books in the library. The college also has a digital library which contains a good number of e-books and S/W's. It has separate reference and issue sections. The library is governed by a qualified librarian and library assistant.
