The department of Biochemistry was established in the academic year 1996-1997 with The goal of rendering the importance of Biosciences to learning aspirers. The main objective of the department is to promote quality education to the rural students in and around Thanjavur district. Students hailing from poor families join our department with an average academic\u00a0background. Also, our department provides ample opportunities to students from other districts and other states, especially from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. So far, our department has successfully produced 21 batches of graduates with excellent results.<\/p>\n

OBJECTIVE<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim and vision of the department are to foster high quality, innovative and multidisciplinary research and advanced techniques in Biochemistry and to provide a platform for the development of entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

INFRASTRUCTURE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well-established and well-equipped lab with sophisticated instruments like Flame Photometer, spectrophotometer with converter, PCR, Gel Doc, Elisa Reader, Electrophoresis, Digital electronic balance, etc. Equipments necessary for quantitative estimation of macromolecules as well as secondary metabolites. Instruments like TLC, Colorimeters, and spectrochem are available. Students are trained in niche areas of Bio-Sciences and Bio-Chemistry.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
