The Department of English provides students with the vital training to meet the demands of global communication and helps them develop proficiency in English. It offers need-based programs, provided in an academic environment of quality higher education, and imbibes essential and universal values implicit in literature and life. The students, especially from the under-privileged stratum, are trained to acquire English communicative skills along with the knowledge about varied social and national values obtained from the study of literature written in English around the globe.
Objective:
The department caters to the needs of all students in the college with the objective of teaching English that could assist them in their respective fields of work. The opportunities are many for the students with good knowledge of English as News Readers in the Television and Radio broadcasting, Program managers, Translators, Editors, etc.,
Infrastructure:
The department hosts a good number of Books and related journals, national and international. The Department has a Computerised Communication Skills Laboratories with 15+ systems and a server facilitating the development of LSRW skills of the students.
