The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was established in 2022. The department has made significant contributions to our understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying the effects of nutrition metabolism, and health since its inception. These include the roles of diet and lifestyle, as well as how they interact with genetic factors, in the cause and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases. The department has worked to translate these discoveries more effectively into interventions that benefit communities and vulnerable populations, and has had a significant impact on public health policies in India and around the world.

Objective:

The goal is to improve human health through improved nutrition and lifestyle choices. The Department works to achieve this goal through active teaching and learning aimed at increasing understanding of how diet influences health at the individual and population levels, developing nutritional strategies, informing policy, educating researchers and practitioners, and disseminating nutrition information to health professionals and the general public.

Scope of this course:

Dietitian in Hospitals and Fitness Centres, Registered Dietitian, Child Development Project Officer(ICDS),Food Safety Officer, Project Assistant in Food Processing Institute and University,  Home Science Teacher in Schools, Professor, Assistant Director in Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department,  Nutritionist in WHO,FAO and Sports Authority of India and Entrepreneur in Food, Nutrition  and Diet related business.
